Sir Teju Ogunjimi said that it will be celebrated this way because what Ewusi wants that day so to give thanks to God in the palace. He said, “There will be a prayer and thanksgiving session, after which the Baba will talk his subjects and give us some words of encouragement.”

A postlude to this is a set of programs lined up to be celebrated from Thursday, 6th April until the Sunday, 9th April. The schedule is as follows: Day 1: Ibile/cultural day by 9am, followed by Ijala Ode by 7pm, all holding at the Ewusi palace. Day 2: Youth day, which will consist of a marathon, group walk and other activities. It will be followed up by a visit from the Kabiyesi, his entourage, the council and planning committee, to the central mosque for a Jumat service by 1pm.

Day 3: This is the grande finale celebration which will hold at Nuga Planet hall by and Ansar-Udeen Nursery and Primary School ground by 1pm. The event will be held simultaneously in order for the Kabiyesi to celebrate with dignitaries while also making provisions for every other citizen of Makun kingdom to celebrate with him.

Day 4: A thanksgiving service will be held at Kabiyesi’s church, UMAC, Eleja by 10am.

In honor of this celebration, the committee in charge has created a 3-project program. The first project is the renovation of the Ewusi palace to give it an exterior that is befitting of the Kabiyesi. The second is to build an Obaruwa Cultural Center, which is very significant to the history of Makun Kingdom. This project has an earmarked budget of #250 million. The third project is the construction of the police station in Ewo-Oliwo, Makun, Sagamu.

Sir Teju Ogunjimi also mentioned that there is a developmental project to enhance youth development in Makun. He said, “It involves making sure that all youths are engaged and making sure that job opportunities are everywhere.”

Also, a mini-documentary was made to showcase the high-level of development that has taken place in Makun over the last 15 years and celebrate the achievements of the Ewusi and his birthday.

Makun, thanks to the Ewusi, has attracted many industries to its land in the past 15 years. This can be attributed to the fact that the monarchy has successfully worked hand-in-hand with the police and vigilantes to make sure that Makun and its environs are safe and secure.

The former DIG, Peter Ogunyanwo, highlighted on how the oldest police station is in Makun, alongside more upcoming ones, making Makun one of the safest environments in the state. He added that, “We have so many houses in Makun now. The main road used to be a two-lane road before, but it is wider now. There are more churches, mosques, and houses and these are all achievements.”

This has made Makun a community where businesses thrive, companies get established, and people survive without depending solely on neither the government nor family members. These achievements alone call for celebration, which is why the days scheduled for the event should be attended by all the citizens of Makun both home and in diaspora.
