Ogun State Police Schedule Shooting Range Exercise for Next Week
The Ogun State Police Command has announced plans to conduct a shooting range exercise at the Alamala Barracks from Monday, December 16, to Friday, December 20, 2024. The public, particularly residents near the barracks, are advised to avoid the area during this period.
According to SP Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the command, the exercise aims to ensure public safety and raise awareness about the potential sounds of ammunition in the vicinity. “We want to reassure the public that this exercise is not intended to cause alarm, but rather to guarantee their safety,” Odutola stated.
The exercise will be carried out by trained ballistic officers, who will strictly observe all necessary safety protocols.
To minimize disruptions, the police command has taken measures to confine the exercise to the designated shooting range. The ammunition used will be live, but the activities will be carefully controlled to prevent any accidents or incidents.
In related news, the Ogun State Police Command has been actively addressing security concerns in the state, including a recent incident involving bandits on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode-Benin expressway.
