45 Students From Ogun School Score A1 In Maths, Set New Record

ImpactHouse Model Schools, a private secondary school in Mowe, Ogun State, has recorded an impressive feat in the 2024 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results released by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). A remarkable 45 students from the school achieved A1 grades in mathematics, with a minimum of five distinctions each.

According to the school’s director, Sam Abdulazeez, the students’ outstanding performance is a proof of the school’s commitment to academic excellence. “We are thrilled to announce that no student was left behind, as we raised the bar higher than last year’s performance,” he stated.

The breakdown of the results shows that three students achieved distinctions in all nine subjects, while 14 students had distinctions in eight subjects, 27 in seven subjects, and one in five subjects. Notably, two commercial students topped the list with eight A1s.

The subjects with all-around A1 grades include Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Government, Financial Accounting, Agricultural Science, and Geography. However, some students recorded C grades in English Language, English Literature, Creative Arts, and Data Processing.

Abdulazeez expressed his gratitude to the students, parents, and team members for their support, stating, “We highly appreciate our students, parents, and team members for their extraordinary support that made this possible.”

The achievement has garnered widespread praise on social media, with many congratulating the school, management, and students on their remarkable feat. On Facebook, Peter Opeyemi commented, “As outstanding as their UTME result” and attached a screenshot of the UTME results. Boluwatife Adeoye said, “Congratulations to you all, welcome to a new dispensation.”

However, not everyone was convinced of the students’ achievement, with some attributing the success rate to examination malpractice. Immaculate Dara expressed doubt, saying, “Is mathematics now easy that they are getting A1 🙄🙄 Abi u people did exam malpractice because we need to investigate those students’ scripts again.”

Despite the skepticism, the majority of comments were congratulatory, with many praising the school and students for their hard work and dedication.
