80th Birthday: Lady Awodipe Commemorates Milestone with Church Manse Dedication

The official opening and dedication of the newly built Church Manse at Methodist Church Nigeria, Irolu-Remo Circuit, Diocese of Remo, took place on Saturday, 19th July, 2025, at 3:00 PM. The building was graciously built and donated by Lady Chief (Mrs) Mosunmola Aderinola Awodipe (JP), Iya Ewe of the Diocese of Remo, in commemoration of her 80th birthday and in loving memory of her beloved daughter, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Awodipe-Sones. The dedication was conducted by The Right Reverend J. M. Bamidele Ibikunle, Diocesan Bishop of Remo.
The event, which formed part of Lady Awodipe’s 80th birthday anniversary activities, featured a spirit-filled program of hymns, prayers, scripture readings, exhortation, and words of thanksgiving. Highlights included a welcome address by the Awodipe family and Methodist Church, a speech and presentation by Sir Engr. Chief Yomi Awodipe and Lady Mosunmola Awodipe, and the formal blessing and dedication of the building. The event concluded with prayers, benediction, and a heartfelt vote of thanks.
Dignitaries and church leaders in attendance included The Very Reverend Olumide O. Faluyi, Presbyter and Minister in Charge; Bro. Olasunkanmi Oredein, Circuit Steward; Sis. Sunbo Oyedeji, Senior Church Steward; and other distinguished personalities. The event was further graced by the presence of royal fathers, notably His Royal Highness, Oba Sikiru Ajibowu Adeyiga Onirolu of Irolu kingdom, alongside several other respected traditional rulers and guests from across the Remo region.
It was a remarkable day of joy, gratitude, and spiritual significance. The Diocese of Remo extended deep appreciation to Lady Awodipe for her extraordinary generosity and service to God’s work. The manse stands not only as a physical structure but as a legacy of faith, love, and dedication to the growth of the church.
Following the dedication ceremony, a warm reception was held at the Awodipe Family Compound, where guests, friends, and well-wishers gathered to continue the celebration in honor of Lady Awodipe’s 80th birthday.
