The youth of Simawa Community in Sagamu, Ogun State has raised alarm on the serious threat to lives and properties of the residents of their community by the land grabbers allegedly sponsored by the Oniraniken of Iraniken, Sagamu.

Despite the previous arrest and detention of three members of the deadly criminals who were in possession of firearms, it was gathered that the Oniraniken has the effrontery to forcefully return to his criminal act that may lead to communal clash if not being timely addressed by Remo traditional council and Ogun State Government.

The community is calling for the interventions of the Inspector General of police of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to forestall the breakdown of law and order in the community. The involvement of the AIG zone 2 who was said to have detailed some armed police officers of the D7 under whose watch the land grabbers have been unleashing terror on the innocent residents of Simawa Community has been worrisome.

It was also gathered that some police leads and heads have been allegedly promised acres of land as compensation for their illegal support. This has raised concerns among residents of the community, who are calling for an investigation into the matter.

It is pertinent to state that since there is a law against land grabbing in Nigeria, the government should take swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice. The community is also calling for the government to provide adequate security to protect the lives and properties of residents.

The youth of Simawa Community is urging the government to intervene in the conflict and ensure that justice is served. They are also calling for peaceful coexistence and unity among residents of the community.
