Ogun State Residents Demand Fix for Deplorable Mowe-Ofada Road

Residents of Itesiwaju Omu Arogun Area Community Development Committee in Ogun State are calling on the government to intervene and fix the deplorable state of the Mowe-Ofada Road. The road, which has been under construction for about seven years, has become a death trap for residents and transport workers plying the route.

The residents, including leaders in the community, have expressed their frustration over the lack of progress in completing the road. Despite the palliative work done by the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, the road continues to be submerged by floods during the rainy season, worsening the experiences of road users.

In a statement by the Chairman of Arigbawonwo Area CDC under the association, Adekanye Adetola, the residents are asking for more government presence in providing basic infrastructure for the community. They want the government to help fix the Mowe/Ofada Road, which was started during the administration of the former governor of the state, Ibikunle Amosun. The first part of the road, a dual carriage, was done by the former governor, while the present governor did palliatives on it before the election.

The residents have expressed their hope that the government will listen to their cries for help and take urgent action to fix the road. They believe that the completion of the road will significantly improve their quality of life, provide better access to basic services, and boost economic activities in the community.
