Nigerian chess master, Tunde Onakoya has completed a successful 24-hour unbeaten streak in his quest to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon.
Onakoya, the founder of Chess in Slums Africa, embarked on his challenge at Times Square, New York City, aiming to play chess non-stop for 58 hours without a loss.
His impressive endeavor is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for millions of children across Africa through his organization, Chess in Slums Africa.
Reflecting on his progress, he remarked, “It’s officially 1 full day of playing continous chess in our attempt to break the @GWR for longest chess marathon. @CoachShawnMar and I have played 60 games and the fatique is naturally setting in. But one thing we will not do is stop.
We will raise a million dollars and bring the gift of chess to children across the world. Your support is needed now, more than ever. “
