President Bola Tinubu to Embark on Official Visit to France

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to depart Abuja, the nation’s capital, today Monday for an official visit to France, according to a statement released by the Presidential Media Aide, Ajuri Ngelale, on Sunday evening.

Although the statement did not disclose the purpose of the president’s trip, it confirmed that President Tinubu will return to Nigeria after a brief stay in France.

This development comes merely days after a recent directive by the presidency, barring unauthorized government officials from attending the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, USA. The directive, handed down by Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajiabiamila, aims to reduce bloated governance costs, citing past instances of unauthorized officials traveling for personal interests on the sidelines of such trips.

The presidency has not provided further details on the president’s itinerary or the objectives of his visit to France. However, the trip is expected to be a significant diplomatic engagement for the Nigerian government.
