Ogun State Launches Subsidized Rice Sales to Ease Burden of Rising Cost

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has launched the sale of subsidized rice across the state’s 20 local government areas. This initiative, in collaboration with the Federal Government, aims to make rice more affordable for residents.

The subsidized rice sale is part of the state government’s efforts to ease the burden of rising food costs and support the well-being of citizens. The distribution process prioritizes inclusiveness, transparency, and fairness, ensuring that the benefits reach grassroots communities.

Governor Abiodun says his administration has developed a structured plan to ensure wide and equitable distribution to various groups, including civil servants, artisans, student bodies, trade unions, and more. Payments will be made through secure channels, with physical verification to prevent malpractice.

The governor appreciated the collaborative efforts of the Head of Service, the Ministry of Agriculture, and all stakeholders involved. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the citizens of Ogun State.
