Ogun Police Arrest 22-Year-Old for Burglary, Theft

 

 

 

A 22-year-old man, John Odeh, has been apprehended by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stealing a motorcycle and other valuables worth N266,000 in the Odeda area. According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, Odeh was caught riding the stolen motorcycle on Sunday at around 5 pm.

 

The police were alerted to the incident by the community chairman, Ogundele Muyiwa, who reported the matter to the station. Odutola noted that “upon receiving the information, detectives were dispatched to the scene.”

 

During interrogation, Odeh confessed to breaking into the homes of two 22-year-old men, Friday Clement and Ode Daniel, to steal the items. “He stated that he broke into the houses to steal the motorcycle and other valuables,” Odutola said.

 

The recovered items include a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with registration number ABG 691 VC, two bags containing clothes, a power bank, and a pair of shoes. Odutola stated that “the suspect is being held by the police, and additional investigations are ongoing.” The police are working to ensure that justice is served and that the suspect is held accountable for his actions.

 

In a separate incident, operatives from the Ago-Iwoye Division arrested a scavenger, Bashiru Rabiu, for stealing window grilles from an empty house. The suspect was caught by a resident who raised an alarm, leading to his arrest.

 

According to Odutola, “the suspect was caught tampering with window grilles in an empty house along Odiolowo Street, Abobi, in Ago-Iwoye.” The police were alerted, and the suspect was apprehended. The stolen items were recovered, and the suspect is being held for further investigation.
