Free Medical Outreach Successfully Completed as Collectives Club, OOUTH Deliver Vital Care.
The 10th edition of the Free Health Screening Week, organised by The Collectives in collaboration with the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, came to a successful close today, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Collectives Club House, Sagamu, Ogun State. The week-long initiative, which began on Monday, August 18, provided free and accessible healthcare to hundreds of residents across Remo and neighbouring communities.
Throughout the week, participants benefited from a variety of services, including blood, Hb, PSA, diabetes, and cholesterol tests, eye examinations with free reading glasses, dental care, medical consultations, and the distribution of free medicines. In addition, several individuals were shortlisted for cataract surgeries. The strong turnout highlighted the importance of the programme in promoting preventive healthcare, raising health awareness, and reducing the burden of medical expenses on families.
During the closing session, participants were encouraged to take their health more seriously, to embrace regular check-ups, and to pay greater attention to preventive care. The organisers reaffirmed that the programme, which has run for the past 10 years, was established to give back to society by improving community health and will continue to hold annually.
The event ended with a vote of thanks to all partners, supporters, and community members whose contributions and participation made the programme a success.
With the conclusion of the 2025 edition, the Free Health Screening Week has once again demonstrated its lasting impact as a vital community health intervention, helping to build a healthier and stronger Remo society.
