Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sympathy for traders affected by a fire that erupted at Singer Market in the early hours of Monday. The incident caused significant damage, leaving many traders devastated. Although the governor was out of town at the time, he promptly dispatched his representative, Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, Industry, and Cooperative, Gwani Shehu Wada Sagagi, to visit the victims and offer support.
In a statement from the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammad Nura Yusuf, the commissioner relayed that the governor personally called to convey his condolences and instructed him to assist the affected traders. Governor Yusuf assured the traders that the government would support them in recovering their losses and urged them to remain resilient in the face of adversity.
The fire at Singer Market adds to a concerning trend of frequent market fires across Kano State.
