The vibrant city of Sagamu united on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, to pay tribute to the life and legacy of Mr. Ajibade Onikoyi, who departed at the age of 74. The heartfelt event took place at the esteemed Royal Haven Center in GRA Sagamu, serving as a touching celebration of a life well-lived and a display of the strong bonds within the extended Onikoyi family.
Under the theme “Celebration of Life,” the ceremony reflected on Mr. Onikoyi’s remarkable journey as a devoted father, grandfather, and uncle.
The program kicked off promptly at 2:00 pm with DJ GA2SO setting a reflective mood through a blend of soothing melodies, welcoming guests and fostering an atmosphere of remembrance and unity. As attendees settled in, the hall filled with warm conversations, shared memories, and a profound sense of togetherness.
MC Lado Onidodo officially opened the proceedings with a warm welcome, introducing distinguished guests including Danku of the Universal Club of Remo, Hon. Niyi Fola, Hon. Sapele, Hon. Aje, Efela, and others. He also acknowledged the lively performance by Malaika Band and expressed gratitude to DJ GA2SO for providing soulful background music. With gentle humor and light-hearted jokes, MC Lado Onidodo created an inviting environment fitting for a celebration of a life cherished.
The celebration reached a lively peak with an energetic dance performance by “Ugly Boy,” whose spirited moves lifted the atmosphere and brought joy to all present. MC Lado Onidodo then took the stage again to honor the distinguished guests, including Alhaji Onikoyi Olayinka Obanta, son of the late Prince Ajibade Onikoyi, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya aka Danku, Hon. Adeniran Ademola (Sapele), Hon. Damilare Bello (Dre), Hon. Habeeb Ajetunmobi, Omooba Adeniyi Adesola (Niyifola), Hon. Fabregas, Funmi Efuwape, and many more.
Adding a musical flair to the occasion, Alaji Sula of Malaika Band delivered captivating fújì performances, encouraging everyone to dance and celebrate, solidifying the day as a joyous tribute to Mr. Ajibade Onikoyi’s enduring legacy.
