Borno: Security Forces Engage and Neutralize Eight Insurgents in Kayamla and Sojiri.

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have successfully neutralized eight terrorists during a clearance operation in the villages of Kayamla and Sojiri in Borno State. The operation, which took place recently, was part of ongoing efforts to combat insurgency in the region.
According to security analysts and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the operation was codenamed Desert Sanity V. It involved coordinated patrols and clearance missions targeting members of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS/ISWAP), who were believed to be hiding in the area. The troops, working alongside Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) personnel, engaged the insurgents in a fierce gun battle.
The exchange resulted in the death of eight terrorists, with some insurgents fleeing the scene. The fleeing fighters reportedly left behind weapons, including several AK-47 rifles. There were no casualties among the Nigerian troops, and no operational equipment was damaged during the encounter.
Military sources confirmed that the operation was a significant success and part of a broader strategy to prevent insurgents from regrouping in the region. The patrol teams are continuing their operations in surrounding enclaves to ensure the terrorists do not re-establish their hold in the area.
This development underscores the ongoing commitment of Nigerian military forces to degrade insurgent capabilities and restore peace in Borno State. The continued clearance efforts are vital in maintaining security and protecting civilians from terrorist threats.
