Sagamu LG Marks Ogun at 50, Highlights Industrial Growth and Road Projects

Sagamu Local Government has joined the rest of Ogun State in celebrating the state’s 50th anniversary, describing the golden jubilee as a milestone that reflects resilience, progress, and the enduring spirit of its people.
Speaking during the anniversary celebration, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government said the council was proud to be part of Ogun State’s 50-year journey, noting that Sagamu has played a key role in commerce, education, cultural preservation, and human capital development across the state.
He described Sagamu as the industrial hub of the Gateway State, adding that the local government has recorded major infrastructural improvements under the present administration. According to him, several key roads, including Cinema Road, Sawmill Road, Sode Road, Awosanya Road, and Ajaka Road, have been reconstructed, while work is ongoing on the Executive Chairman’s Office. He also disclosed that Radelu Road has received approval for reconstruction.
The chairman expressed appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun for his support and leadership, which he said have contributed to the achievements recorded in Sagamu. He also acknowledged the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, and members of the Traditional Council for their roles in promoting unity and development in the area.
He further commended former council chairmen, commissioners, members of the House of Assembly, and other political appointees for their contributions to the growth of Sagamu, assuring that the local government would continue to support initiatives aimed at building a stronger Ogun State.
