BATORO WELCOMES NEW ERA AS OBA DR. ADESEGUN ADEDAPO OGUNSOLA (OJUDUN II) IS CORONATED IN GRAND STYLE

 

 

Remoland came alive in a remarkable display of culture, tradition, and celebration as a grand two-day coronation event was held on Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28, 2026, drawing large crowds from within and beyond the community.

 

The historic occasion marked a significant moment in the traditional landscape, as His Royal Highness, Oba Dr. Adesegun Adedapo Ogunsola (Ojudun II) was celebrated in a ceremony that reflected the depth, pride, and continuity of Yoruba heritage. Over the course of two days, the atmosphere was filled with excitement, reverence, and a strong sense of communal identity, as guests gathered to witness and partake in the royal rites and festivities.

 

Day one of the event featured the core traditional rites and installation proceedings, carried out in accordance with age-long customs. Chiefs, elders, and custodians of tradition were present in their full regalia, lending cultural authority and authenticity to the ceremonies. The environment was richly decorated, with symbols of royalty and heritage creating a befitting backdrop for the historic moment.

 

By the second day, the celebration transitioned into a vibrant social gathering, with an influx of guests, well-wishers, and cultural enthusiasts. The event space buzzed with energy as attendees were entertained with a variety of cultural displays, music, and social activities that highlighted the richness of the people’s traditions.

 

The event was graced by several prominent royal fathers, including HRM Oba Dr. Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, the Torungbuwa II and Paramount ruler of Remoland; Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, the Radanuwa of Idado; Oba Adewale Osiberu, the Elepe of Epe Kingdom; Oba Evangelist Oladimeji Allison, the Alagura of Agura; among many other distinguished royal fathers, traditional rulers and community leaders, whose presence added prestige and honour to the celebration.

 

Also in attendance was the Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Odulate ably represented by Comrade Isiaka Salami; Vice Chairman Sagamu Local Government, who joined other dignitaries in celebrating the historic occasion and also presenting the staff of office to the newly elected king, showing support for the preservation of cultural heritage.

 

A major highlight of the celebration was the electrifying performance by renowned Fuji music icon, King (Dr.) Saheed Osupa Akorede, whose presence elevated the event to another level. Delivering a powerful and engaging performance, the music legend thrilled the audience with his signature style, blending traditional Fuji rhythms with contemporary sounds. His performance drew loud cheers, dancing, and widespread excitement, as guests fully immersed themselves in the celebratory mood.

 

Throughout the two days, the event stood as a testament to unity, cultural pride, and the enduring relevance of traditional institutions. It brought together people from different walks of life, reinforcing a shared sense of belonging and respect for heritage.

 

The successful hosting of the coronation ceremony not only marked a new chapter but also reaffirmed the importance of preserving tradition while embracing celebration as a unifying force in the community.
