Mrs. Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, have been rescued unharmed after being abducted by gunmen in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The rescue was confirmed in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Okon Placid, who said the victims were freed during a coordinated operation by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT).

According to the police, the operation was carried out at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday following days of intelligence gathering, surveillance and tactical efforts aimed at tracking the kidnappers.

Mrs. John-Paul and her twin sons were abducted on June 3 at about 7:30 a.m. while travelling to school. The incident occurred at Elewura-Challenge in the Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Reports indicated that the armed men had trailed the victims’ vehicle from their residence before intercepting and abducting them.

“The rescue was achieved through sustained intelligence gathering, surveillance, and tactical operations. These efforts enabled investigators to track the kidnappers’ movements, resulting in a confrontation with FID-IRT operatives,” the statement said.
