The ongoing Lidero Festival 2026 took on a deeply humanitarian tone as His Royal Highness, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, led a delegation of chiefs, community members, association representatives, and well-wishers on a visit to St. Pio Charity Home in Idado, Sagamu.
The visit, which formed part of the festival’s activities, was marked by generosity and heartfelt interaction as the delegation presented foodstuffs and other essential provisions to support the charity home and its children.
Beyond the donations, the occasion provided an opportunity to connect with the children, reinforcing the sense of community and belonging that remains central to the Lidero celebration.
Speaking during the visit, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile expressed his happiness at returning and reconnecting with the children. With visible warmth, the monarch described them as his own and said he was “finally back home to my children.”
The remark captured the emotional significance of the occasion, reflecting the monarch’s joy at being reunited with the people and his desire to share in their lives beyond the formalities of traditional leadership.
The Queen, Chiefs, community members, youths and well-wishers also spent time with the children, engaged with them and created an atmosphere of warmth, fellowship and shared joy.
The outreach added another important dimension to this year’s Lidero Festival. While the festival celebrates culture, heritage and tradition, the visit demonstrated that its spirit also extends to service, compassion and giving back to the community.
Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, the Radanuwa of Idado also reiterated that, the visit was not simply about presenting provisions. It was about presence, showing the children that they are remembered, valued, and very much a part of the community.
As the Lidero festival continues, the visit to St. Pio Charity Home stands as a meaningful example of how the celebration can strengthen community bonds, and positively impact lives.
