Super Falcons Set for New Technical Crew Ahead of 2028 Olympic Qualifiers

The Super Falcons are set for changes to their technical setup ahead of their 2028 Women’s Olympic qualifying campaign in October, National Sports Commission Director-General Bukola Olopade has said.
Olopade’s comment follows the Nigeria Football Federation’s decision on August 17 to ask head coach Justine Madugu and his technical crew to step down after the team’s campaign at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Nigeria were eliminated from the tournament after a 1–0 quarter-final defeat to Cameroon. The result meant the Falcons missed out on automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Nigeria subsequently lost 2–1 to South Africa in the CAF play-off, ending their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup.
The Super Falcons are now expected to focus on their Olympic qualifying campaign, with the technical structure to be reviewed before the October fixtures.
