Ogun Approves Siun-Iperu, Simawa-Lukosi/Ogijo Road Reconstruction
The Ogun State Executive Council has approved the reconstruction of two key roads in the Remo axis, alongside the construction of two new general hospitals and the state’s participation in power generation.
The approvals, announced on Sunday, September 13, include the reconstruction of the 4.87-kilometre Siun Junction–Iperu Junction Road, linking Obafemi Owode and Ikenne Local Government Areas.
The council also approved the reconstruction of the 4.87-kilometre Simawa–Lukosi/Ogijo Road in Sagamu Local Government Area, a route expected to improve connectivity within the area.
In the health sector, the council approved the construction of new general hospitals at Aiyepe in Odogbolu LGA and Itori in Ewekoro LGA. It also approved Ogun State’s participation in power generation through Gateway Power Limited, as part of efforts to improve electricity supply for the state’s growing industrial and commercial activities.
The council further approved variations to ongoing road reconstruction projects, including the Sango–Ota–Ijoko–Agbado–Oke-Aro–Akute Road and the 69.2-kilometre Abeokuta–Abule Egba Road.
The latest approvals form part of the state government’s infrastructure, healthcare and economic-development plans, with the projects expected to improve transportation and access to public services across Ogun State.
