JAMB CAPS Suffers Temporary Outage Amid 2026 Admission Exercise
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed a temporary disruption of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), as candidates and tertiary institutions continue activities linked to the 2026 admission exercise.
The Board said the platform became unavailable because of technical challenges involving its hosting arrangements. JAMB disclosed that it had begun discussions with the organisation hosting the system as efforts continued to restore normal access.
CAPS is the platform used by JAMB to coordinate and automate admission processes, allowing institutions to process admissions while candidates can monitor admission decisions and respond to offers through the system.
The disruption comes at a significant point in the admission cycle, with candidates relying on the platform for admission-related activities. JAMB acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the outage and assured users that it was working to return the system to full functionality.
