Alhaji Abdul-Hameed Femi Omotayo, popularly known as OmoOwo and the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2027 senatorial candidate for Ogun East, has visited Ijebu Igbo, Ago Iwoye and Awa Ilaporu as part of a thank-you tour.
Omotayo was accompanied by Hon. Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid, known as Attacker, and Engr. Ayinde Awobadejo, chairman of the Ogun East PDP Senatorial District.
The tour began at the basketball court of the Ago Iwoye Mini Stadium, where the delegation met members of the Council of Olorituns and Egbe Olojas. The court was built by Hon. Attacker.
Also present were Hon. Agbolade Oladapo Olayemi, the PDP candidate for Ijebu North State Constituency I, and Hon. Moboloaji Jubril Martins-Kuye, the party’s candidate for Ijebu North State Constituency II and son of the late Senator Jubril Martins Kuye.
In Ago Iwoye, the delegation met with representatives of Arewa, Igede, Hausa and Oke Ogun communities, as well as students and members of Community Development Associations. The gathering took place at the residence of the late Senator Martins Kuye.
The team then travelled to Awa Ilaporu, where it held discussions with non-indigenous communities and Olorituns. The delegation also visited the Orimolusi Palace before concluding the day’s activities at the PDP Party Secretariat.
The tour provided Omotayo and his colleagues with an opportunity to express appreciation to community leaders and residents for their engagement. It also offered a chance to meet with groups across the communities and strengthen relationships throughout Ogun East.
The visits formed part of Omotayo’s outreach to residents and community stakeholders in the senatorial district. During the engagements, the delegation met with traditional and community representatives, non-indigenous groups, students and party members.
The tour covered several locations and included meetings with a range of local groups, reflecting the delegation’s efforts to connect with different communities in Ijebu Igbo, Ago Iwoye and Awa Ilaporu.
Omotayo’s 2027 candidacy was identified during the tour as the focus of his political activity in Ogun East. The delegation’s visits and meetings brought party representatives together with community members and local leaders.
The day concluded at the PDP Party Secretariat, following the meeting at the Orimolusi Palace. Organisers described the tour as an opportunity to thank residents and strengthen ties with communities across the district.
