Arokodare Earns Double Nomination for Ajax Goal of the Month

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has received two nominations for Ajax Amsterdam’s Goal of the Month award for October 2026 after an impressive scoring run with the Dutch club.

The 25-year-old forward was shortlisted for his goals against Atalanta in the UEFA Conference League on October 22 and AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie on October 31.

Against Atalanta, Arokodare controlled a long pass from Youri Baas, beat a defender and calmly finished past the goalkeeper in the 87th minute to put Ajax ahead.

He also scored the decisive goal in Ajax’s 1-0 victory over AZ Alkmaar, rising above defender Mees de Wit to head home Abdellah Ouazane’s cross in the ninth minute.

Arokodare scored four goals in six appearances during October, earning two places on the club’s shortlist. Teammate Ouazane also received two nominations, while Davy Klaassen, Leo Salazar, Abdoulaye Camara and Naoufal Mouslim complete the list.

The double nomination recognises Arokodare’s strong form and gives him two opportunities to win the club’s monthly award.
