ASTON VILLA SACK STEVEN GERARD AS COACH IN CHARGE
Steven Gerrard has been sacked as manager of Aston Villa after just 11 months in charge. He was sacked following a 3-0 defeat to Fulham on Thursday night; the former Liverpool midfielder took charge at Villa Park last November and secured a 14th-placed finish in 2021/22; Villa have won 2 of 12 Premier League games this season.
It is believed the club is already considering replacements for the former England midfielder.
Former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham coach, Mauricio Pochettino, is one of the frontrunners for the role.
Pochettino has been out of work since leaving PSG in July.
