A Day of Glory: Redeemer’s Day School Shines at 7th Biennial Sports Festival
The atmosphere was vibrant and filled with excitement as Redeemer’s Day School, a Christian crèche, nursery, and primary school in Sagamu, hosted its 7th Biennial Inter-House Sports Competition at the prestigious Gateway International Stadium on Saturday, 29th November, 2025. The event brought together students, teachers, parents, invited schools, and distinguished guests in a colourful celebration of talent, energy, and sportsmanship.
The program commenced with an opening prayer led by Pastor Felix Akintaju, followed by the arrival and recognition of special guests.
The Chairman of the Day, Pastor C. T. Oni, was warmly acknowledged alongside other dignitaries. The National, State, and School Anthems, beautifully rendered by the school band, added a ceremonial touch to the morning’s proceedings.
In her welcome address, the Head of School, Assistant Pastor Mrs. Adeola Adeleke, expressed heartfelt appreciation to all attendees for their support of the school’s 7th biennial inter-house sports event. She emphasized the importance of sports in building confidence, discipline, and unity among students.
The ceremony continued with the official affirmation by the school sports prefect, followed by a parade of technical officials and the participating houses, each marching proudly and energetically around the stadium.
One of the most anticipated highlights of the day was the series of races and games. Students of Redeemer’s Day School showcased impressive levels of talent, strength, enthusiasm, and determination, while parents cheered passionately from the stands. The energy of the young athletes brought life to the stadium, capturing the true spirit of the sporting tradition.
The event also featured thrilling relay races from invited schools, adding a competitive edge and fostering inter-school unity.

Another exciting moment was the March Past competition, where the houses dazzled the audience with coordinated steps, colourful uniforms, and admirable discipline. The display showcased unity, precision, and school spirit, with Yellow House emerging as the overall champion of the parade.
Before the parents took the track, students also competed in several fun and engaging games such as lime and spoon, fill in the bottle, finding the bottle, sack race, and needle and thread. These activities brought laughter, excitement, and memorable moments for both participants and spectators.
Adding even more fun to the day, parents took part in a lively Parents’ Relay Race, where both mothers and fathers showcased humour, enthusiasm, and spirited competitiveness. The crowd roared with excitement as families shared unforgettable moments on the field, strengthening bonds within the school community.
The event came to a close with a prayer by the Sports Master, Mr. Gabriel, marking the end of a successful and joy-filled sports festival.
