A Golden Milestone: Prince Olufemi Akinwunmi Celebrates 50 with Faith, Service and Public Health
Thanksgiving Service at Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Sagamu.
The celebration began at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Sagamu, where the choir welcomed the celebrant and guests with hymns. Officiating minister, Venerable Imadu, led prayers for the church, the community and the celebrant, followed by Bible readings from both clergy and the celebrant.
The Dean of the Cathedral, Ven. Dr. E. A. Adegbuyi, delivered the sermon and acknowledged the presence of several reverends and distinguished guests including Hon. Commissioner Oresanya, Eng. Deola Sosanwo, Daddy and Mommy Osinayi Ige, Prof. Ogunsanwo, and other dignitaries.
The service featured a special offering for the orphanage, Holy Communion, and a thanksgiving procession by the celebrant and his family. In honour of his 50th birthday, Prince Akinwunmi donated ₦500,000 to the church.
Public Health & Accountability Colloquium at Innova Hall
The celebration continued at Innova Hall with the 1st Remo Public Health & Industrial Accountability Colloquium, hosted by MC Kolade Folarin Kadesh and supported by Emzo Pharmaceuticals (The Emzo Group).
The event brought together industry leaders and government representatives to discuss the theme: “Strengthening Corporate and Government Accountability on Industrial Effluents.”
The speakers at the colloquium Included Eng. Ola Oresanya, Dr Segun Ogunsaya, Representative of MAN (Manufacturer Association of Nigeria).
Discussions centred on environmental safety, industrial waste management, clean water, and the impact of effluents on vulnerable communities. The Speakers highlighted the need for proper waste water treatment, Recycling systems for manufacturers, Data driven community education, stronger regulatory accountability and collective responsibility for environmental protection.
Dr. Segun Ogunsanya spoke extensively on health risks such as Hepatitis A, dysentery and waterborne diseases caused by harmful industrial discharge. Other speakers emphasized recycling practices, safe production methods and active community monitoring.
Free Medical Fitness & Welfare Outreach by the Celebrant
As part of his commitment to community well-being, Prince Akinwunmi organized a free medical fitness session for guests and well wishers, conducted in partnership with the Emzo medical team. Participants received Vital check,medical consultations, free essential drugs and packaged free food and refreshments.This gesture underscored the celebrant’s dedication to promoting public health beyond the conversation on industrial accountability.
The MC later invited the celebrant Prince Akinwunmi to give his remarks, during which he appreciated guests, encouraged collective action for a safer environment and reaffirmed his passion for improving community health.Prince Akinwunmi commended stakeholders for their commitment and emphasized the need to build a healthier future for upcoming generations.
The colloquium also featured recognition of the celebrant by Emzo Pharmaceuticals and a gift presentation from the Association of Photographers, Sagamu Branch before the cutting of the birthday cake.
RECEPTION
The day concluded with a warm reception where guests enjoyed music, meals, drinks and celebratory activities in honour of Prince Akinwunmi’s golden jubilee.
