Abu Abel Foundation Celebrates Founder’s Birthday with Charity Outreach, Feeds 2,000 People
The Abu Abel Foundation marked the birthday of its founder with a large-scale charity event, feeding 2,000 residents of Sagamu at the Town Hall. The event, held on Saturday, was a display of the foundation’s commitment to community development and support.
The celebration commenced with an opening prayer led by one of the beneficiaries. Following this, Gbenga Lawal popularly known as Ambassador Easy, the President of Sagamu Youth Association(SYA), delivered a speech emphasizing the foundation’s mission. He highlighted that the event was a gesture of gratitude from Abu Abel to the people of Sagamu, particularly on his special day. Lawal noted that Abu Abel’s philanthropy extends beyond this event, including empowering 200 widows and providing relief during the COVID-19 pandemic, when relief packages were distributed to the community.
The occasion was also graced by Hon. Kayode Akinmade, the Special Advisor to the Ogun State Governor on media and strategy. Akinmade praised Abu Abel’s generosity and wished him a happy birthday, joining the attendees in singing celebratory songs.
Hon. Ajetumobi Abeeb Samuel, the Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Youth Development, expressed his appreciation to Abu Abel’s Foundation for its significant contributions to the Sagamu community. Hon. Samuel commended the foundation for its dedicated efforts in providing food and support to the less privileged, the elderly, and the disabled. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering community development and urged other organizations to emulate the foundation’s exemplary service to humanity.
A special interfaith prayer session was conducted, led by representatives of the three major religions. Obayomi Ifarida represented traditional practitioners, Alfa Abdulsallam Baale led Muslim prayers, and Madam Toyin Shokaya offered Christian blessings.
After the prayers, the event continued with the distribution of food and monetary gifts to the elderly and youth in attendance. The people of Sagamu expressed their gratitude and prayed for the continued success of Abu Abel’s charitable endeavors.
