Former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has expressed her willingness to reconcile with popular singer Davido, more than two years after their online disagreement. The development follows an incident in October 2023, when Davido liked a post on X (formerly Twitter) that tagged Phyna’s fans as “useless,” sparking controversy.
Reacting to the post while congratulating Davido on welcoming twins with Chioma, Phyna questioned if she had done anything to deserve his animosity. In response, Davido claimed he did not know who she was, which led Phyna to respond with “God knows me” before unfollowing him on Instagram. The online exchange created a rift that lingered for months.
Recently, during a livestream, Phyna openly stated her willingness to make amends, saying, “I will like to stream Davido.” She revisited their past disagreement and expressed her readiness to apologize publicly, emphasizing her desire for clarity on what caused the fallout. “If I have the opportunity to stream with Davido, I will take it,” she said. “He is my senior; he’s more experienced. I plan to tender an apology to him, but before that, we need to understand where the quarrel originated from.”
Phyna also suggested that Davido should clarify whether his liking of the post was accidental or intentional, as she believed their misunderstanding might have been a misinterpretation. She added, “If Baba Ibeji (Davido) can tell me that it was by mistake, then he will explain his side of the story. Maybe I took it the wrong way because I don’t really know him.”
Her statement signals a desire to move past the dispute and foster a possible reconciliation, demonstrating maturity and a willingness to resolve conflicts through dialogue.
