Momodu pointed out that Nigeria is at a critical juncture, comparing the nation’s political health to that of a patient in need of urgent medical attention. He stressed that the country must be rescued from the danger of concentrated power in the hands of a single individual, which could undermine democratic principles and lead to authoritarian rule.
He acknowledged that some politicians are driven by greed and the desire for quick wealth, but he clarified that his concern is for the nation’s overall well-being and democratic integrity. Interestingly, Momodu revealed that if he aimed solely for personal wealth, he could align himself with President Bola Tinubu and seek political gains, but his focus remains on Nigeria’s collective future.
The ADC chieftain called for a collective effort to restore Nigeria’s democracy, emphasizing that political leaders should act as guardians of the nation’s stability. He likened the current situation to taking a sick patient to the hospital—where experts must first stabilize the patient before focusing on development and progress.
