Akarigbo Calls for Peace Between SYA and NYCN, Emphasizing Unity in Sagamu

In a significant development, the executive members of Sagamu Youth Association (SYA) convened a meeting with His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, CFR, B.L, LL.M, FCA, FBR, DSC, (Torungbuwa II), Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, and Chairman, Ogun State Council of Obas. Held at the Akarigbo’s palace, Ita-Oba, Sagamu.
The purpose of this meeting was to address the ongoing disagreement between the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and the Sagamu Youth Association (SYA).
During the meeting, Oba Babatunde Ajayi clarified that he had not called for the dissolution of either organization, emphasizing that both have their respective responsibilities and roles within the community. The paramount ruler stressed the importance of peace and unity, urging both groups to continue their activities peacefully.
To foster dialogue and cooperation, Oba Babatunde Ajayi also stated that a meeting platform will be created with Royal Initiatives for Development of Sagamu Community (RIDSCo), where necessary modalities will be further discussed to ensure peace and unity among the youth of Sagamu. This platform will provide an opportunity for further discussions and the establishment of necessary modalities to ensure lasting peace and unity among the youth of Sagamu.
In conclusion, the Akarigbo admonished all youth organizations in Sagamu to prioritize peaceful coexistence, recognizing that it is instrumental to the growth and development of the community.
The members of SYA expressed their gratitude to the king for his concern and willingness to listen to their concerns, reaffirming their commitment to working towards a harmonious and prosperous Sagamu.
