APC SLG Youth Leaders Host First-of-its-Kind Empowerment Program in Sagamu
The All Progressives Congress (APC) SLG Youth Leaders successfully held a youth empowerment program on Monday, July 15, 2025, at the Party Secretariat in Sagamu Local Government. The event, tagged the “first of its kind,” was designed to support young people and low-income earners across the local government by providing them with practical tools to promote self-reliance, reduce unemployment, and enhance grassroots development.
The program began with an opening prayer led by Hon. Eng. M.O. Bello. This was followed by the official distribution of various empowerment items including standing fans, school fans, sewing machines, grinding machines, and clippers. A total of 75 beneficiaries received support during the event, with five individuals selected from each of the 15 wards. The beneficiaries, visibly excited and appreciative, expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the initiative. Many described it as timely and impactful, and they extended their thanks not only to the organizers but to Ogun State at large for prioritizing youth welfare and empowerment.
Each ward was duly represented by its youth leader: Baruwa Abiodun (Ward 1), Onawoga Azeez (Ward 2), Abdul Makanjuola (Ward 3), Adebisi Wasiu (Ward 4), Adewale Sofowora (Ward 5), Omooba Odugbesi (Ward 6), Onasanya Azeez (Ward 7), Omooba Adedeji Sabiatu (Ward 8), Salisu Saidi (Ward 9), Adekunle Adewale (Ward 10), Ogunsola Adedayo (Ward 11), Otaiku Ismail (Ward 12), Adesanya Akeem (Ward 13), Prince Odeokoya Rahmon (Ward 14), and Mrs. Badira (Ward 15).
The occasion drew attendance from APC local government executives, councilors from all 15 wards, ward chairmen, women leaders, and members of the Road Employees (Sagamu Branch), all of whom showed strong support for the empowerment initiative. Their presence highlighted the shared commitment to fostering community progress and youth inclusion.
A vote of thanks was given to Prince Adeleke (Asoludero) Adedoyin for his exceptional support and leadership. Appreciation was also extended to other distinguished personalities who contributed to the success of the program, including Hon. Adeniran Adeyinka Ademola (Sapele), Hon. Funmilayo Efuwape Akinyebo (Faeco), Hon. Afolabi Odulate (AFO), Hon. Tola Olutayo (HTO-Belgium), Hon. Segun Shitta, Prince Idowu Niyifola, Hon. Con Ola Oresanya, Hon. The APC SLG Youth Empowerment Program stands as a strong testament to the party’s commitment to youth development and inclusive governance. It is expected that this initiative will not only impact the 75 direct beneficiaries but also encourage broader efforts toward building a self-reliant, productive, and empowered Ogun State.
