Army Chief Urges Troops to Maintain Pressure on Terrorists in North-East.
Maiduguri, Nigeria – The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Shaibu, has reiterated the importance of sustained military efforts in the ongoing fight against terrorism in Nigeria’s North-East region. During a visit to Maiduguri, the epicenter of counter-insurgency operations, Lt. Gen. Shaibu urged troops to remain vigilant, aggressive, and coordinated in their operations against Boko Haram and other insurgent groups.
In his address to officers and soldiers, the Army Chief emphasized that the fight against terrorism requires unwavering commitment and resilience. “Our mission is to bring lasting peace to the North-East. I urge all personnel to maintain the pressure on terrorists and to continue gathering intelligence to outwit their tactics,” he stated.
Lt. Gen. Shaibu also reassured the troops of the government’s support, highlighting recent successes in neutralizing key insurgent leaders and reclaiming territories. He called for increased collaboration with local communities and security agencies to prevent the resurgence of insurgent activities.
The Army Chief’s visit coincides with ongoing operations by the Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadin Kai, which has been actively engaging terrorists in various parts of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states. Authorities remain optimistic that with sustained efforts, peace and stability will be restored to the war-torn Region.
