BREAKING: Media Mogul Raymond Dokpesi Dies at 71

 

Renowned media mogul and founder of DAAR Communications plc, Raymond Dokpesi, has passed away at the age of 71. According to a family member, Dokpesi died at a hospital in Abuja after suffering a stroke shortly after the recent Ramadan fast.

 

He had been managing his health since then. Dokpesi was a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and he founded the African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM. He was also the deputy Director-General of technical and systems of Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Campaign Council.

 

In 2020, Dokpesi and members of his family were hospitalized at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital after they were diagnosed with COVID-19. They, however, survived the disease. The news of his passing has come as a shock to many, and tributes have been pouring in from various people across the country. Dokpesi is survived by his wife and children.
