Today 9th May 2025 marked a historic milestone for Nigeria’s biotechnology industry as Codix Bio Ltd officially commissioned its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway in Ilisan Remo, Ogun State.
The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Nigeria’s Coordinating Minister for Health and social welfare Professor Ali Pate, Hon Minister of Education Dr Tunji Alausa, Hon Minister of trade and investment Dr Jumoke Oduwole Mfr,
Minister of state for Health Dr Adebobola Basorun, The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun CON, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale AJAYI CFR, LLB, LLM, FCA, FBR, TORUNGBUWA II, the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remoland and other royal fathers, Asiwaju S.K. The Akarigbo of Remoland His Royal Majesty Oba Dr Babatunde Adewale AJAYI CFR TORUNGBUWA II in his goodwill message thanked the Governor of Ogun state for his support for companies and industries in Remoland and Ogun State in General. He specifically congratulate Mr Sammy Ogunjimi for his unwavering efforts, he says he is elated for this feat and encourages potential investors to troupe in en mass as Remoland is a peaceful abode and industry friendly.
At the core of the event was the unveiling of the company’s future plans by Mr. Sammy Ogunjimi, Chairman and CEO of Codix Bio Ltd. He expressed pride in establishing Nigeria’s first world class biotech manufacturing plant dedicated to producing diagnostics and biopharmaceutical products. “Our facility will focus on developing and manufacturing diagnostic kits, vaccines, and other biopharmaceutical products tailored to the Nigerian and regional markets, we will transform the landscape of diagnostics in Africa by producing Rapid Diagnostic Test Kits (RDTs) that rival the very best globally for diseases that continue to burden our continent.” Ogunjimi explained.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by representatives from the Korean firm, local government officials, healthcare professionals, and industry stakeholders. The event included a guided tour of the facility, showcasing cutting-edge laboratories, manufacturing lines, and quality assurance units designed to meet stringent global standards.
