COMMISSIONING OF RENOVATED PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRES: IPERU INDIGENES FORUM APPRECIATES NANNNA, COMMENDS ASSOCIATION’S PATRIOTIC ZEAL
The Iperu Indigenes Forum has expressed profound appreciation to the National Association of Nigerian Nurses in North America (NANNNA) for its patriotic commitment to grassroots healthcare development, as the Association prepares to officially commission four renovated Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in Ogun State.
In a statement jointly signed on behalf of the forum by the Convener, Prince Ladi OLABINJO; Administrator, High Chief Ifashola Saheed OPEODU, the Oluwo of Iperu; Administrator, Otunba Adebayo SALAMI; and Media Officer, Temitope OYEKAN, the Forum commended NANNNA for adopting and comprehensively renovating the Primary Health Centres under its Adopt-A-Primary Health Centre Initiative.
The Forum expressed its gratitude to the Association, which has so far adopted 34 Primary Health Centres across nine states in three geo-political zones of Nigeria, namely South West, South East, and South South, five of which are located in Ogun State, including the two in Iperu (Imobido and Iregun).
The commissioning ceremonies will be performed by the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Ogun State, Dr. Tomi COKER, today, 19th December, 2025, at the following locations:
Imobido Primary Health Centre, Iperu Remo
Iregun Primary Health Centre, Iperu Remo
Aiyepe Primary Health Centre, Aiyepe, Ijebu
Iwade-Oke Primary Health Centre, Ijebu Ode
According to Dr. Esther OSHUNLUYI, Chairperson, NANNNA’s Health Mission Committee, and Coordinator of the Adopt-A-Primary Health Centre Initiative in Nigeria, the interventions are aimed at bringing healthcare services closer to underserved communities and providing succour to the less privileged. She noted that the Association’s work in Ogun State demonstrates the powerful impact of collaboration between diaspora professionals, state authorities, and local communities.
She added that the initiative is also designed to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve primary healthcare services at the grassroots level.
The National Association of Nigerian Nurses in North America (NANNNA) is an umbrella organization comprising Nigerian Nurses Associations and Nursing School Alumni across North America. The Association is committed to improving the health and quality of life of Nigerians at home and abroad, influencing healthcare policies, and advancing the nursing profession in Nigeria.
With an estimated population of over 6,000 nurses of Nigerian origin in the Americas, NANNNA fosters personal and professional development while contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s healthcare system.
