contestant for Orile-llawo stool donates food items, cash to residents of Ogun community
As a celebration for the festive season continues, one of the contestants for the Orile-Ilawo stool, Chief Lawrence Atanda Ogunsanya has put a smile on the faces of many residents of the communities by donating food items to them.
Ogunsanya of Oolotan and Eleyele Descendants Union distributed bags of rice, spaghetti, tin tomato, among others to the residents across the Orile-Ilawo villages like Alagbagba, Ariku, Lerin, among others.
Speaking on the donation, Chief Ogunsanya who doubles as the Akogun of Orile-Ilawo said the gesture was to put a smile on the residents of the communities during the festive period.
He noted that the donation is to enable the residents to celebrate the yuletide with ease considering the present economic hardship.
He stressed that he is committed to engaging fully in activities of improving the welfare of the good people of Orile-Ilawo.
He said, “You know we are in the festive season and the season comes with merriment, celebration and all of that. So, I just wanted to make this festive season a worthwhile one for the people of my communities, and several villages in Orile ILAWO and I am glad I did.
“The whole idea is just to make the people happy and seeing the excitement on their faces, I can tell you that there is nothing as fulfilling as that.”
The high chief also made a donation of N200,000 in support of the youths of Ilawo township for a Christmas Party headed by Mr Alaka Shehu.
