The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a motorcycle rider, Godonu Lowe, for allegedly murdering his wife and attempting to conceal her body. Lowe was intercepted during a stop-and-search operation on Wednesday in the Ilaro area after police received credible information about his suspicious activities. He was found transporting his wife’s corpse in a sack tied to the back of his motorcycle.

According to police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, the body exhibited signs of violence, including bleeding around the neck, indicating foul play. A blood-stained cutlass was recovered at the scene, further suggesting a violent confrontation. Lowe’s arrest came after authorities acted swiftly to intercept him at about 1:05 p.m. Odutola explained that the police untied the sack and discovered the deceased woman’s body, which was later identified as Lowe’s wife.

The police have detained Lowe for questioning, and the victim’s remains have been taken to the State Morgue in Ilaro for autopsy and preservation. The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, praised the anonymous informant whose tip-off led to the arrest.
