CULTURAL DISPLAY AT DAY ONE OF THE 38TH SAGAMU DAY ANNIVERSARY 

Sagamu day celebration is an annual moment for all sagamites home and abroad to jubilate and celebrate the success of the land all year long. This anniversary is coupled with numerous activities like morning royal walk, Marathon race, èbìrìpò night, cultural dance among many other historical moment.

This year’s anniversary further commenced with the cultural dance and display at about 12pm on Thursday, 27th October 2022, this was after the early morning walk by the royalties.

Different traditional and cultural groups came out to show their dancing steps and prove the worth of culture and traditions indeed. Among the cultural group were ;The cultural egúgún group popularly called masquerade, agemo, sangbeto from the èguñ group and many other magicians, as it was a beautiful sight to behold.

The king, Oba Babatunde Ajayi while speaking to our correspondent said” This is a significant day for all sagamites. We are happy and always joyous to celebrate Sagamu day because it’s our culture and tradition, and as you know, traditions cannot be ignored or forgotten”.

The anniversary continues on Friday 28th October 2022 with activities like ; Marathon race, èbìrìpò night, musical night and many other breathtaking events.
