The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Ogun State, Hammed Benco, has expressed appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun for his responsiveness and support to the state’s workers.

The commendation came during the official presentation of two new 18-seater buses to the NLC and the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) at the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta.

Benco, speaking on behalf of both unions, lauded Governor Abiodun as a leader true to his promises and genuinely committed to the welfare of workers. He expressed gratitude for the unexpected gesture, emphasizing the governor’s consistency in prioritizing the well-being of the state’s workforce.

“We are extremely grateful to our governor for being a man who is faithful to his words and being a worker-friendly governor. We were actually not expecting these at this time, but I think the governor’s word is his bond. We are indeed grateful to him and convinced of his commitment to the welfare and well-being of workers as well as people of the state,” said Benco.

The NLC chairman pledged the loyalty of the workers to the Abiodun-led administration, aligning with the governor’s “Building Our Future Together” mantra. Governor Abiodun, represented by Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele, highlighted that the bus presentation fulfilled his promise to provide the two unions with brand-new buses for their daily activities.

The governor emphasized his administration’s consistent prioritization of workers’ welfare and noted the importance of mobility for union representatives to effectively carry out their responsibilities. He urged civil servants in the state to continue supporting the present administration.
