Dapo Abiodun Hails Outgoing Police Commissioner for Meritorious Service
Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Monday, extolled the contributions of the outgoing Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, in ensuring the security and safety of the state during his tenure.
Speaking at a Pull-Out Parade in honour of the retiring CP, held at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Abiodun, represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, praised Alamutu for his 35 years of service to the Nigeria Police Force.
The governor commended the retiring CP for his collaboration with the state government in combating crime with professionalism and integrity, as well as for prioritizing the training and development of officers to maintain peace in the state.
Abiodun said, “CP Alamutu’s contributions to the security and safety of Ogun State and our nation cannot be overstated.
“You have shown unwavering commitment to safeguarding peace in our communities. Throughout your career, you exemplified high standards of professionalism and integrity in service to the nation. Today’s celebration is a testament to your tireless efforts to make our society better.”
In his response, CP Alamutu expressed gratitude to the state government and security agencies for their unwavering support during his tenure.
He pledged to remain an advocate for the Nigeria Police Force even in retirement and urged junior officers to uphold integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
“The police are the public, and the public are the police. This principle has guided me throughout my career, and I hope it continues to guide you as you uphold the values and principles of law enforcement,” Alamutu said.
Alamutu expressed optimism about the future, saying, “My heart is full of hope. I am excited about what lies ahead, but I will always remain a passionate advocate for this noble profession.”
