Dapo Abiodun Initiates Ogun Invest Ambassador Network System to Foster Investment Growth
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun of has inaugurated the Ogun State Investment Ambassador Network on Monday, with Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Dapo Okubadejo, representing him at the inauguration ceremony held at OPIC, Isheri, Ogun State.
Governor Abiodun underscored the significance of the newly established agency, emphasizing its role as a catalyst for private sector-driven development. Representing the governor, Okubadejo stated, “This agency is an independent agency. We wanted this agency to be very proactive, efficient, and to ensure that they are like a private sector government kind of agency.”
He highlighted support structures, including the Business Environment Council, which enhances efficiency in key processes such as construction permits and land acquisition. He emphasized the need for a paradigm shift towards a more service-oriented approach reflective of private sector standards, emphasizing the importance of training and incentivizing performance. The ambassadorial network is set to undergo regular evaluations to maximize its impact on attracting investments and leveraging the state’s abundant resources for economic development.
Commissioner Adebola Sofela emphasized the critical role of carefully selected ambassadors in driving this initiative, emphasizing their collective commitment to advance the economic growth and development of Ogun State through a robust ambassador network. Sofela encouraged each ambassador to embrace principles such as transparency, honesty, efficiency, proactiveness, and accountability in their roles, ensuring the success of the initiative and positive outcomes for the state’s economy and citizens.
