Dapo Abiodun Presents N1.054 Trillion “Budget of Hope and Prosperity” for 2025

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has presented a budget proposal of N1,054,542,020,147.47(One Trillion, Fifty-Four Billion, Five Hundred and Forty-Two Million, Twenty Thousand, One Hundred and Forty-Seven Naira, Forty-Seven Kobo) to the Ogun State House of Assembly for the 2025 fiscal year. The proposed budget, tagged “Budget of Hope and Prosperity,” is aimed at promoting sustainable development and prosperity for all residents of the state.

 

The budget proposal consists of N453.56 billion in recurrent expenditure and N600.98 billion in capital expenditure. Key allocations include N120.1 billion for personnel costs, N37.49 billion for consolidated revenue costs, N76.07 billion for public debt charges, and N219.86 billion for overhead costs.

Major projects outlined in the budget include the renovation and equipping of hospitals and 80 primary health centers, construction and rehabilitation of roads across the state, and the extension of Metro Rail lines. Other projects include the construction of Ogun Lodge in Abuja, OGIRS Revenue House, and a modern Court of Appeal, as well as the rehabilitation of 150 km of feeder roads and construction of fire stations.

 

The budget proposal is expected to be financed through various revenue sources, including internally generated revenue, federal allocations, and capital receipts. Sectoral allocations include N284.46 billion for infrastructure, N117.83 billion for education, N134.54 billion for health, and N65.39 billion for agriculture and industry.

 

Governor Abiodun assured that his administration remains committed to transparency and fiscal discipline, as demonstrated by achieving 79% of its revenue target in 2024. The governor also stated that the focus of the 2025 budget will be on completing ongoing projects under the ISEYA pillars and aligning with the Medium-Term National Development Plan (2021-2025) to ensure sustainable development and prosperity for all Ogun State residents.
