Dapo Abiodun Presents N703bn 2024 Budget to State HOA

In a significant move towards progress, governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has presented its budget proposal for the year 2024 to the state House of Assembly.
Titled “The Budget of Sustained Growth and Development,” the proposed budget amounts to a staggering N703.03 billion. This budget is strategically divided, with N287.37 billion allocated for recurring expenditures and N415.66 billion for capital expenditures.
Aligned with the Ogun State Economic Development Plan and Strategy 2021–2025, the budget prioritizes key areas essential for the state’s advancement. These include fiscal sustainability, human capital development, food security, an improved business environment, energy sufficiency, improved transport infrastructure, and the promotion of industrialization, with a particular focus on small and medium-scale enterprises.
Furthermore, the government aims to enhance security by implementing additional security networks and communication systems. The installation of intelligence and on-street transport management and enforcement systems across all three senatorial districts is also on the agenda.

“Lastly, our administration is dedicated to addressing the housing shortage in the state. As part of our efforts, we plan to construct over 2,000 housing units in various locations, including Warewa, Sagamu, Iperu, Ibara, Ayetoro Road (Abeokuta), OGTV Village, and Ijebu-Ode.” Dapo Abiodun wrote in a statement.
