Dapo Abiodun set to reward exceptional DPOs, Area commanders
The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, says his administration will begin a scheme to reward outstanding Divisional Police Officers and Area Commanders officers with houses.
Speaking in Abeokuta during a conference for senior police officers in the state, with the theme, ‘Creating the enabling environment for a free, fair and credible 2023 general elections in Ogun State’, the governor said the gesture would encourage hard work, patriotism and boost security across the state.
He stated, “We will reward the best DPO and Area Commander of the Year, and not only will this happen under my watch, I will institutionalise it so that no other governor will come and stop it.
“The DPO of the Year will go home with a two bedroom bungalow, and if that DPO does not want it, I will then give him the cash. I will give the Area Commander of the Year a three bedroom bungalow. I will leave the Commissioner of Police and his committee to determine other categories that we can also reward.”
Meanwhile, the Professionals Women Council of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has donated a customised campaign vehicle to the governor. The council’s media officer, Segun Kolawole, in a statement, said the programme was organised by the state chapter of the council.
The National Coordinator of the Council, Ronke Soyombo, noted that the gesture was to appreciate the governor’s achievements since his assumption of office in 2019.
