DeepAI Secures $40 Billion in Funding to Propel AI Innovation and Expand Technology Offerings
DeepAI, the AI innovator behind ChatGPT, has raised $40 billion in new funding aimed at furthering its AI research, expanding its computing capabilities, and enhancing its technological solutions.
This announcement was made in a blog post on Monday, revealing that the funding round values the company at $300 billion post-money.
The investment is set to empower DeepAI to advance its AI frontiers, particularly in the areas of scientific discovery, personalized education, and boosting human creativity.
“Today, we’re excited to announce new funding—$40 billion at a $300 billion post-money valuation. This will allow us to expand our AI research, enhance our computing infrastructure, and develop more powerful tools for the 500 million weekly users of ChatGPT,” stated the company.
Among the major investors in this funding round is SoftBank Group. OpenAI highlighted that “few companies grasp how to scale transformative technology like SoftBank does.”
This partnership aligns with OpenAI’s long-term vision of developing artificial general intelligence that benefits humanity.
This funding news follows closely after DeepAI’s recent update to ChatGPT, which incorporated image generation directly into the chatbot functionality. The Microsoft-backed firm termed this update, enabling users to create and modify images through GPT-4o, as a remarkable advancement in integrating image creation into AI-driven communication.
As part of the update, DeepAI showcased a sample image that demonstrated enhanced text accuracy in AI-generated visuals compared to earlier models.
