Dominant Bendel Insurance Maintain Winning Streak As Remo Stars Defeats Enyimba By: Ogunleye Oluwapelumi
The battle for the toppers in the 2023 abridged NPFL continued in the match day Five encounter as Bendel Insurance stepped up their momentum with a victory over Elkanemi warriors, and their closest rival, Remo stars, defeating Enyimba in Ikenne.

The only goal for Bendel came in from Deputy Echeta, who zooms down the left flank and composes himself to slot beneath Kehinde ogundele’s arm, to bring the score line to 1-0 which was held up until the final whistle of the game.
Samuel Anakwe on the other hand scored the only goal of the match for Remo stars on the 17 seconds mark after the kick-off blast from the referee. His goal now stands as the fastest goal of the season so far in the NPFL.
Coach Daniel Ogunmodede popularly called Ijaball reiterated after the match how committed his team is, and re affirmed that will continue to chase after victory in every match day.
“We are focused and committed. This is one thing I have always said that every game we go into, it is with a mentality to win and get the three points, which we did today.
“Enyimba is not a small team, and for is to have picked the three points from this game means a lot to us. Our next game is also going to be approached with the mentality of victors because all we want to do is win and win” Ijaball added.
After the match day five games in group A, Bendel Insurance now sits on top with 15 points, closely followed by Remo stars who have 12 points. The Sky-blue star next game will be against Akwa United in Uyo on Sunday 5th February 2023.
