Dr. Gbadebo-Saba and Wife Honored as Otunba and Yeye Agbomola of Makun Kingdom

In a traditional ceremony filled with rich cultural heritage, Dr. Adedayo Oyekunle Gbadebo-Saba was installed as the Otunba Agbomola of Makun Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya, the Ewusi of Makun, Sagamu. His wife was also honored with the title of Yeye Agbomola of Makun Kingdom.
The installation, steeped in Yoruba tradition, commenced with royal prayers, followed by age-old traditional rites and cultural performances that showcased the kingdom’s deep-rooted customs. The installation was sealed with the beading and decoration of the new chiefs, accompanied by the presentation of the staff of office.
Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya, while bestowing the honor, commended Dr. Gbadebo-Saba for his unwavering commitment to humanity and urged him to continue his service to the people.
Dr. Gbadebo-Saba, a distinguished medical practitioner and CEO of Owokoniran Memorial Hospital, Sagamu, has made remarkable contributions to the medical field. A 1982 graduate of the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, and a specialist surgeon from OOUTH since 1989, he has earned multiple awards of excellence from reputable organizations such as NANS, ROTARACT CLUB, LIONS CLUB, and AGPMPN-OGUN STATE.
The newly installed Otunba Agbomola also holds the prestigious chieftaincy title of Basegun of Erinja land.
The colorful ceremony was graced by notable Yoruba monarchs, including Oba Sikiru Adeyiga Ajibowu (Onirolu of Irolu), Oba Adetunji A. Osho (Alaye of Ode Remo), Oba Solomon Adegboyega Oguntade (Orimadegun of Araromi), Oba Kolawole Adesina Adeyemo (Negbuwa of Ibido), and Oba Evang. Oladimeji Allison (Alagura of Agura). Also in attendance were the Lisa of Makun, chiefs of Makun, dignitaries, and other eminent personalities.
The installation further strengthens the cultural fabric of Makun Kingdom and underscores the enduring significance of traditional chieftaincy titles in honoring and recognizing people.p to the people.
