Dwellers of Erinwole Area, Sagamu Decries Bad state of Drainage.
Residents, Business owners along the Erinwole road in Sagamu Ogun state have decried the bad drainage/canal in the environment.
It was gathered by our correspondents that the drainage has in many ways caused the loss of life, especially during the rainy season, when the road which had not been in a better condition for some time now is being flooded with water.
According to research, most drainages along the Akarigbo Sabo connected with this particular Erinwole drainage get flooded and blocked during the raining season.
A resident in the area, Madam Oyewole who spoke with our correspondent said, the situation of this road has always been bad, and the drainage worsens it.
“I have been staying/ residing in this area with my family members for a few years now, and it has not always been good. There is this stench in the air all the time because of how dirty the drainage is”.
Mr. Ade who is a shop owner in the resident, said, “the road to this Community, as you can see, is bad, the drainage is also bad, many accidents with big casualties occur just because of this factor”.
Our Correspondents also gathered that the drainages along GRA road Offin Sagamu are mostly covered in sand, causing water to stay stagnant on the tarred road, which can in a way destroy the road if precautions are not taken.
The residents called on the state government and community leaders to act in getting the Erinwole drainage fixed to avoid more casualties.
