Ekiti APC Chairman Abducted, Governor Orders Security Agencies to Rescue Him

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Paul Omotoso, was abducted on Saturday by gunmen. The state governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has ordered the police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Amotekun Corps to join security efforts to free Omotoso and two others from captivity.

The governor, represented by his Deputy, Mrs Monisade Afuye, gave the directive on Sunday when he visited Omotoso’s family at Imesi Ekiti, in Ayekire Local Government Area of the state to sympathize with them on the devastating incident.

According to the APC State Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, the state party chairman was driving in his car along the Agbaso-Imesi Road when the incident happened. It was reported that the gunmen intercepted his vehicle and took him and two others away.

The security agencies – police and Amotekun – have been alerted, and they are all working on it. Governor Oyebanji has ordered that the APC chairman should not only be rescued unscathed but that the perpetrators of the dastardly act be nabbed and made to face the full weight of the laws.

The abduction of the Ekiti State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Paul Omotoso, has caused concern amongst party members and the general public. It’s good to hear that the security agencies have been alerted and are working together to locate and rescue the victims.

Governor Oyebanji’s visit to Omotoso’s family shows that the state government is taking the matter seriously and is committed to ensuring that the victims are rescued unharmed. It’s hoped that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will be brought to justice and made to face the full weight of the laws.
