Enyimba United has been crowned the winner of the 2022/2023 Nigeria premier Football League (NPFL) season after playing a 1-1 draw with Rivers United in the final game of the NPF super 6 championship in Lagos. The draw was enough to secure the title for Enyimba United, who finished the season with 9 points. The champions will receive a reward of 100 million naira for their efforts.
Meanwhile, Remo Stars has made history by securing their first-ever CAF ticket after defeating Bendel Insurance 1-0 in their final game of the season. The only goal of the game was scored by Qudus, who helped Remo Stars finish the season in second place with 9 points. Rivers United will also be playing in the CAF Confederation Cup (CAFCC) after finishing third in the NPFL season with the same number of points as Remo Stars and Enyimba United.
